Usually when I hear ignorant or stupid comments made by elected officials in the media, I just consider the source and let them ride.
Honestly, sometimes I don't see how some of these people got elected to office or how they manage to stay there.
I can see how some of them, by duping the populace with slick talk, got there, but eventually they show their true colors. It's time to remove them as quickly as possible. I could not let this ride.
Case in point was in Wendell commissioner Carol Hinnant's letter from Oct. 2, "Yes I am an elected official - one who has allowed you to use this Constitution as a shield of protection."She obviously knows nothing and cares less about the Constitution, the document that allows her to serve. And I mean serve - not lord over.
I have studied the Constitution and its history for a long time. And, when it comes to the Constitution, this individual, whether in or out of office, does not have the authority, power, right or privilege to allow anybody anything. The Constitution belongs to the people, and, yes it is a protective shield against tyrannical government. Hinnant has shown her true colors and has her own agenda, in disregard to her constituents, as also shown by this board's recent disregard of public law.
