Mary Magdalene Lewis, 85, died Tuesday. A native of Franklin Co. she was daughter to the late Bryant “Buddy” & Emma Jones Lewis. She worked for many years at Zebulon Drug Store and for over 30 years at the DMV until her retirement.

She was a lifelong member of Pilot Baptist Church. Magdalene loved children and helped raise many. She had a sharp whit and an unmatched memory. She will be missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by 12 siblings. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Friday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in the Lewis Family Cemetery.

She is survived by 36 nephews & nieces, special nephew, Carrol Williams, sisters-in-law, Delenia Lewis, Peggy Lewis, numerous great nephews & nieces, and many more extended family.

Visitation 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, and other times at the home.
