KNIGHTDALE - Residents looking for local services and businessmen and women in search of networking opportunities should be able to find what they need at the June 16 Knightdale Business Expo 2011, said Jennifer Bryan, Knightdale Chamber of Commerce executive director. The chamber sponsors the annual event.

The Expo, to be held from 2-7 p.m. at Knightdale HighSchool, 100 Bryan Chalk Lane, showcases more than 100 vendors and includes representatives from area restaurants, grocery stores, banks, churches, fitness and exercise centers - even the public library.

Representatives from town government including the police and planning departments will be there, too.

"It's like a big community marketplace," Bryan said.

Attendees can register for door prizes including a gas grill and membership to a fitness center when they sign in at the Welcome Desk, Bryan said. Then, participants can peruse different booths to find out about what Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon and Raleigh have to offer.

Venders serving food include Buffalo Wild Wings, Dominoes Pizza, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Relish Café & Bar and Sweet Tomatoes, among others.

Practical seminars are included in this year's expo. Topics include Records: What to Keep and For How Long, Beyond Networking and Using Quickbooks to Build Your Business. While the seminars are free, seating is limited, so Bryan suggested signing up beforehand.

As in years past, celebrity judges will award vendor prizes for the most effective display, the most creative booth, and the best use ofcolor. "That's a fun thing for our vendors," Bryan said.

The expo is a chance for area residents to discover new places to shop, eat and carry out business with, she said.

"People like to do business with people they know, like and they trust," she said.

Vendors can sign up to participate until all 114 booths are filled, she added.

"We really do invite everyone to come out and enjoy a fabulous community event," she said. Admission is free.
