RALEIGH - Jessica Hunter, of Zebulon, has been awarded the Girl Scout Silver Award by Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines, which is the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting. This award symbolizes outstanding accomplishments and a commitment to excellence, and helps girls build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement. It's Girl Scouts like Hunter that make the world a better place.
For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Hunter sent beanie babies to children in Afghanistan and Iraq. The beanie babies were distributed by American soldiers to children in war zones.
Jessica is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Hunter of Zebulon. Hunter has been a Girl Scout since 1999 and is a Girl Scout Cadette advised by Chrissy Hunter. In addition to Girl Scouting Hunter is a member the National Junior Honor Society, soccer team, and JRCPF.
