MIDDLESEX Zebulon's loss is this town's gain. But company officials say the short move to Middlesex is part of a plan to help Future Graphics emerge from bankruptcy protection stronger.Marketing Director Deanna Chambers said the company's move to a 69,000 square-foot facility at 10235 U.S. 264 Alternate, Middlesex, also gives them more room to grow. Previously, the company operated from a 50,000 square-foot building in Zebulon. The company leases the new facility from U.S. 264 Properties, a company owned by Phil Killette and his wife. Killette is one of the majority owners of Future Graphics.Company president Kenny Stancil says the move has had no affect on customers. “We are still in operation and doing business as usual as we work through our reorganization process,” Stancil said.Chambers said business for the commercial printer has actually picked up in the weeks since the move. “It's going well. We have been able to cut costs and get additional work into the facility,” Chambers said. And that's exactly what Chambers said company leaders had hoped would happen.“This building allows us to offer more competitively pricing in the market place by drastically reducing our overhead cost. As the economy improves, with the additional square footage, this new facility will accommodate future growth qand equipment,” Chambers said.Future Graphics filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy October 23, 2009. Under Chapter 11, companies can reorganize their debt to get better terms without having to liquidate their assets. The company employs about 20 full and parttime workers, down from a high of 50.
