RALEIGH - The East Wake wrestling team moved to 3-1 in the Greater Neuse River Conference Wednesday night with a 42-29 win over host Southeast Raleigh.
The Warriors were wrestling for the first time in 2010 and posted an important win for the conference standings. Coach Brian Staples had high words of praise for Cory Estes in victory and Sterling Wilder in defeat.
"Cory is wrestling so well now. To come out and post a pin in 23 seconds, his win was very inspiring for the team. Sterling was wrestling Elijah Adams, who is undefeated for this season. Sterling fought hard and set the tone for the type of effort we would need tonight."
