People who need help paying their heating bills this winter can apply for assistance from the North Carolina Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) through Friday, November 13, 2009.
Eligible households will receive a check in the mail early in February 2010.
Appointments for emergency assistance will begin Monday, Nov. 16.
In eastern Wake County, residents who need help can apply at the Eastern Regional Center, 1002 Dogwood Drive, Zebulon Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
