GARNER - Rodney Dickerson, assistant town manager of Garner, has been appointed to serve on the North Carolina State Building Commission.

Dickerson was sworn into his new position by the Commission's Administrative Officer on August 25 at the State Construction Office in Raleigh.

Dickerson was named after he was highly recommended by numerous individuals and organizations that knew he would be a great addition to the commission because he possesses vast knowledge of all aspects of the construction industry. Dickerson has been employed with the Town of Garner since 2001.

Dickerson graduated in 1990 from Duke University, and received his Master's Degree from North Carolina State University in 2001. He is a native of Wendell.

He graduated from East Wake High School in 1985 and was inducted into the East Wake High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
