EASTERN WAKE COUNTY - Soon all those campaign signs will be history. Gone will be the political fliers in your mailbox.
Tuesday is election day for voters in Wendell, Knightdale and Zebulon.
Voters in Knightdale will choose three town council members from among four candidates: Charles Bullock and incumbents Mike Chalk, Jeff Eddins and Terry Gleason.
In Zebulon, Mayor Bob Matheny is running for re-election unopposed, while three candidates are vying for two seats on the town board. They are Annie Moore and incumbents Beverly Clark, Roy Collins.
Wendell voters will look at the most crowded ballot. Seven candidates are seeking three seats on the town board. They are Christie Adams, Lee Batson, Ira Fuller, Ginna Gray, Glenn Harris, James Parham and incumbent Ronald Thompson.
Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., but county elections officials have closed some polling places as a cost-savings measure in anticipation of light turnout.
In Knightdale, voters will cast ballots at Lockhart Elementary, Hodge Road Elementary and Knightdale Elementary schools.
In Zebulon, voters will enter the voting booths at the Rotary/Woman's Club Building.
And, in Wendell, voters will choose winners at Wendell Elementary and Carver Elementary schools.
