Rhonda Allison Pennington of Knightdale and George Ernest Charles of Raleigh were united in the sacrament of marriage on May 30 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Raleigh by the Rev. Father Paul Kaplanis. A reception followed in the fellowship hall.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pennington of Knightdale. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Anna Buckey and Mr. Ernest Charles, both of Raleigh.

Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Pence and Mr. and Mrs. James Pennington all of Bluefield, W. Va.. Grandparents of the groom are Mrs. Margaret Vassilion of Raleigh and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Charles and the late Mr. Johnny Vassilion.

Kristen Connors of Columbia, S.C. served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Gunthner of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Jensen Adams of Raleigh; Mary Edwards, sister of the groom, of Raleigh; and Jordan Hodge, sister-in-law of the bride of Zebulon. Junior bridesmaid was Sarah Eagle of Raleigh.

Flower girl was Macie Gross of Wake Forest. Noah Chaney of Raleigh, godson of the groom, served as crown bearer. Garrett Pennington of Knightdale and Zebulon, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. Sherry Eagle of Raleigh served as wedding director.

The groom chose his father to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Temple of Raleigh; Whitney Horne of New York City, N.Y.; J.P. Edwards, brother-in-law of the groom of Raleigh and Jim Pennington, brother of the bride, of Zebulon.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Watts School of Nursing. She is employed at Duke University Medical Center in Durham as a registered nurse.

The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University and is employed by Gateway Bank in Raleigh as a loan officer.

After a honeymoon trip in Grand Cayman, the couple is at home in Raleigh.
