WENDELL – Roy Gene “Pete” Buffaloe, 65, of 238 S. Pine Street, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009.

A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Pan and Erna Hodge Buffaloe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the Wendell Rescue Squad where he served 20 years. He served the rescue squad as Chief, Lieutenant and as a member of the board of directors. He was a member of the Wendell Jaycees and American Legion Post 148. He won the Wendell Mayor’s Award in 1993. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Buffaloe; one daughter, Jeannie B. Driver and husband David of Wendell; one son, Chris Buffaloe and wife Shelley of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wendell. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 125 Selma Road, Wendell, NC, 27591.

L. Harold Poole Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
