MIDDLESEX – Maxine Dement Ray, 83, of S. Walnut Street, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at her home.A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Louise Hunt and Ollie O. Dement and was the widow of Oliver Bennett Ray.She was a retired assistant town clerk with the town of Middlesex.Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Paylor and husband Michael of Garner; and two grandsons.Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel.
