A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Charles William Robertson and Beulah Scarboro Robertson.

He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force and was a World War II veteran. He worked for the U.S. Post Office and was the Postmaster in Wendell. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, the Masons and the Amran Shriners.

Funeral services with military honors were held Sunday afternoon at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Brantley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Coley Robertson; and his sister, Ruth R. Prince of Knightdale.
