Born Nov. 17, 1940, Mr. Maynard was a son of the late Carlist and Cleo Mae Johnson Maynard. He was a retired tile mechanic. Mr. Maynard was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, 301 W. Main St., Benson. Pastor Tom Wagoner will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Ernestine Barbour Maynard; three sons, Stuart Andrew Maynard of Sanford, Timothy D. Maynard of Kenly and Jeremy E. Maynard of Wendell; seven sisters, Melrose Powell of Newport, Earline Jackson of Newton Grove, Emma Mae Peterson of Clinton and Willadean Bryant, Linda Jernigan, Charlotte Jones and Ellen Jernigan, all of Dunn; and a brother, James O. Maynard of Dunn.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the funeral home.
