Georgia Bilbrey Romines
WILLOW SPRING — Georgia Bilbrey Romines, 87, formerly of Livingston, Tenn., died Jan. 6 after a few weeks of declining health. Graveside service was Jan. 10 at Smokey Mountain Memorial Gardens, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

She was born in Overton, Tenn., Jan. 16, 1920, daughter of the late Sammie Bilbrey and Sallie Livingston Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Samuel Romines; and several brothers and sisters from a family of 10.

Surviving: son, Harvey Thurman “Doc” Bilbrey and wife Peggy of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Shea Miller of Willow Spring, Christy Bilbrey of Fuquay-Varina; great-grandchild, Madison Miller of Willow Spring; several stepchildren; brothers, Roy Lee Bilbrey of California, Frank Bilbrey of Livingston, Tenn.; sisters, Cleo Harris and Clara Sells, both of Livingston, Tenn.

William Robert “Billy” Cardon Jr.
LOUISBURG — William Robert “Billy” Cardon Jr., 64, died Jan. 7 at Duke Medical Center while awaiting lung transplant. Funeral was Jan. 10 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, Knightdale. Graveside service was at Jamesville Cemetery, Jamesville, with military honors.

He was born Aug. 28, 1943, in Wilmington, son of the late William Robert Cardon Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Cooper Cardon. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Until retirement, he worked for Visual Graphic Corp.

Surviving: daughter, Lisa Cardon Clark and husband Lane of Raleigh; adopted children, Susan Cardon Broadwell and husband Ken of Knightdale, Steven Claude Cardon and wife Debra of Rockville, Md., Robert Raymond Cardon and wife Mary of Raleigh; brother, Marvin Cardon of Raleigh; sisters, Marjorie C. Proffitt of Stem, Jeanette C. Daniels of Rocky Mount.

Elizabeth Campbell Brannan
ZEBULON — Elizabeth Campbell Brannan, 79, died Jan. 7 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Graveside service was Jan. 11 at Union Chapel Baptist Church, Zebulon.

She was born in Alexander County June 7, 1928, daughter of the late Ulach and Ella Campbell.

Surviving: daughter, Sharon J. Robertson and husband Larry of Wilmington; sons, Tommy Jordan of Zebulon, David Jordan of Zebulon, Rickey Jordan and wife Terri of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Jordan, Jared Robertson, Wesley Robertson, David Jordan, William Jordan, Billy Jordan, Brian Jordan, Jeannie B. Thomson and husband Joseph, Richard Jordan, Paul Jordan; great-grandchildren, Alex Jordan, Sierra Jordan.

John W. Dunston
BUNN — John W. Dunston, 72, died Jan. 7. Funeral was Jan. 11 at Zion Spring Church of Christ Disciples of Christ. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements by William Toney's Funeral Home, Zebulon.

Luther W. Doyle
KNIGHTDALE — Luther W. “Luke” Doyle, 85, died Jan. 8 after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial service was Jan. 11 at Central Baptist Church, Wendell.

He was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Wellston Okla. He was the youngest of nine children. He received his B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University and his M.S. degree from the University of Georgia. He served in the Pacific Theater in World War II as a naval aviator and retired from the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant commander with an honorable discharge.

Surviving: wife of 32 years, Frances Doyle; daughters, Suzanne Monnat of White Oak, Ga., Debbie Edenfield of Darien, Ga., Sici Gregory of St. Simons Island, Ga., Mary Esther Butler of Marietta, Ga.; sons, Bruce Doyle of Green Castle, Pa.; Louis Loyd of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Anthony Bryant Hood
ZEBULON — Anthony Bryant Hood, 37, of 655 Wake County Line Road, died Jan. 8 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Memorial service was Jan. 11 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest.

Alene Wethington Wilder
KNIGHTDALE — Alene Wethington Wilder, 99, formerly of 117 Park Ave., died Dec. 28, 2007, at Wellington Nursing Center. Funeral was Dec. 30 at Knightdale Baptist Church. Burial was at New Knightdale Baptist Church cemetery.

She was born in Wayne County March 16, 1908, daughter of the late Ben Wethington and Elizabeth Smith Wethington. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1926. For many years she worked at the Knightdale School cafeteria. As long as her health permitted, she was a devoted member of Knightdale Baptist Church where she served on various committees. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, William David Wilder, in 1975.

Surviving: son, William A. “Billy” Wilder Jr. and wife Libby Jean of Knightdale; grandchildren, Bobbie W. Earnhardt and husband Tom of Raleigh, Debbie W. Betts and husband David of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Melissa Betts Abshire and husband Kameron, Taylor William Betts; sister, Minnie Ruth W. Wilson of Knightdale; brother, Howard Wethington of Raleigh.

V. Faye Williams Murdock
RALEIGH — V. Faye Williams Murdock, 60, died Dec. 30, 2007, at Raleigh Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center following complications from multiple sclerosis. Funeral was Jan. 2 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel. Entombment was at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.

She was born in Vance County Oct. 19, 1947, daughter of the late Jimmy Roger Williams and Bertha May Harris Williams. She worked as a benefits specialist for Progress Energy.

Surviving: daughters, Carole Bass and husband John of Wendell, Caryn Ruiz and husband Ignacio of Raleigh; grandchildren, Connor and Taylor Bass, Isabel, Olivia and Devon Ruiz; brothers, David Williams and wife Anita of Florence, S.C., Thad Williams and wife Jan of Marietta, Ga.; sister, Rhoda Folmer and husband Bill of Harrisonburg, Va.
